Weak Interaction Physics at TwinSol

A program to investigate the unitarity of Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) quark-mixing matrix by studying super-allowed mixed mirror β decays has been initiated at TwinSol facility Notre Dame. These Fermi/Gamow-Teller (F-GT) decays, occurring between T=1/2 isospin doublets in nuclei, provide a complimentary check on data from pure Fermi 0 + states. The first part program, involving measurement lifetimes relevant nuclei required accuracy one 10 3 or better, nearly completed. However, additional complication introduced F-GT mixing requires use an ion trap measure ratio ρ with similar accuracy. lifetime measurements, as well progress installing , will be discussed.
